BELLY DANCE CLASSES

 

Belly dance is great cardio-vascular activity. It will firm and tone the hips, thighs, buns and abs. We recommend belly dance classes in addition to your exotic dance classes as the movements and the conditioning and flexibility work is a great supplement for the pole tricks and exotic dancing that we do. It's is also awesome counter-balance work to keep your muscles safe from over-use injuries in the pole. These classes are created for everyday women who don't think they can dance. The teaching methods are fun, easy and you will see that it is a dance class that you can do! This is a perfect conditioning activity if you are taking the pole workshops as it will enhance your upper body and improve posture and core strength. Emphasis on Stretching, isolation, strength exercises and a great cardiac dance combination will have your waistline whittled away and those legs strong.

Myryka has trained and performed with the world's top dancers, fitness trainers and choreohraphers. YOU CAN LEARN TO DO THIS!! Belly dance IS the ultimate core training. Belly dancers are known for their muscle control and elegance. We cover isolation drills, shimmies, and tons of upper & lower body conditoning. Hip isolations tone and sculpt thighs and it qualifies as weight bearing exerise so it helps build strong bones. Belly dance (the Arabic word is "raks sharki") can burn up to 300 calories per hour. Learn belly dance movements like hip rolls, figure-eights, snake arms, and undulations. This class is taught by master instructor and 2006 Belly Dancer of the Universe, Myryka Nunya.

The sensuality of bellydance is a timeless and mysterious secret that women of ancient civilizations have used to nurture thier souls, cultivate femininity, seduce thier men. They veil offers you a playful prop to hide behind for a flirtatious interaction with your audience as well as giving you an amazing upper body workout. Utiliziing the back muscles, the veil dance workout create that poise that well-trained dancers are known for. You will walk prouder and more confident by strengthening your core and improving your posture.

 

The softness of the veil brings you closer to your own femininity. Liquid and silky, the floating fabric falls over your body and serves as a reminder of how gentle, yet powerful, women can be.

 

We will learn a progressive routine that we will perform as a group at the end of the session. Performance is optional and you are NOT required to perform in order to take the workshop.

 

What is included?

  • 6 - 90 minute dance classes over the course of 6 weeks
  • Dance Veil (yours to keep for practice & play at home)
  • Break down of spinning movements and techniques for spotting
  • Student Performance at Mijana Middle Eastern Restaurant upon completion
